EPIC ART

Epic Art was created out of an unique and strong partnership between Remo Belli of Remo Drums and Helen Dolas, CEO of Arts & Services for Disabled, Inc. Epic Art is designed for individuals who are interested in participating in both art and business classes. In this class, students learn how to design and create product boxing, packaging, business logos, develop product catalogs, and planning possible marketing events. Instructors work with students individually and/or small teams in a group format for creating and developing one of a kind product boxes.

Through Epic Art students address and develop the following skills:

  • decision making

  • judgment

  • reasoning

as well as the following art skills:

  • color theory

  • composition

  • graphic communication

Epic Art methodology is such: students participate in the creation of developing art on premade product boxes for products. Students have a choice of materials including 2D and 3D materials as well as unconventional art materials to create their boxes. However, active choice making, discussion, packaging, and creation are the primary focus.

The mission of Epic Art is to help and guide student's microenterprise by highlighting and celebrating abilities students already possess as well as creating viable income opportunities as well purposeful community integration and inclusion. The goals for the Spring Line 2010 are to: increase Epic Art production, to connect and promote Epic Art products on ASD’s website, increase sales through promotion, connect through partnership with GO! Store and Café Press and continue to develop seasonal collections.
