Employee Wellness
Arts & Services offers Employee Wellness Programs for companies, hospitals and other workplaces that are interested in promoting health and wellness for their employees. Arts & Services has conducted a 12 week proven research study with our own employees and found it to be extremely beneficial for our careproviders, therapists and administration. The purpose of this study was to examine the clinical impact of a six-week HealthRhythms™/Recreational Music-making protocol versus six weeks of music therapy treatment strategies on employee communication, teamwork, absenteeism, job satisfaction, and wellness. The outcome data showed significant benefits in all areas. Based on this research we recommend starting an Employee Wellness Program. Please contact us to start one today! Your employees will find enjoyment, reduce stress and find their own creativity!
“Group drumming harnesses so many elements of wellness in one activity that anyone can enjoy,” according to Karl Bruhn, Father of the Music-Making and Wellness Movement. “Offering an affordable, effective interdisciplinary recreational music making program that encourages communication, reduces elements of burnout and improves mood states among employees has considerable potential for creating a satisfied, effective workforce that is more readily engaged and committed to working together in an arena that represents one of the most challenging areas of societal need,” in this case, long-term healthcare workers. (Bittman, Stevens, Bruhn, 2006). Group drumming has been shown to increase Natural Killer cell activity: “A landmark controlled scientific investigation demonstrated statistically significant positive cell-mediated immune system changes that correlated with one-hour group drumming sessions using the HealthRHYTHMS group empowerment drumming protocol.” (Bittman, et al, 2001).
