Overview

The primary mission of Arts & Services for Disabled is to provide life-long learning, community service and career opportunities through the creative arts for people with disabilities in an environment of warmth, encouragement and respect.

Arts & Services for Disabled offers full-time arts programming for adults with developmental disabilities at four program sites in the South Bay area:

All programs offer classes in the visual and performing arts in addition to assistance with building:

  • Basic self-care and life skills

  • Gross and fine motor ability

  • Memory and cognitive ability

  • Communication and social skills

  • Self-Esteem

Arts & Services also facilitates the community integration of people with developmental disabilities through meaningful and purposeful community-based activities including:

  • Community service through volunteering

  • Earning income and developing an arts career by making, showing, and marketing art as well as creating and managing art related businesses.

  • Engaging in cultural activities in the community
